Looking into an exciting 2020

Dear all,

As we are about to close the door on 2019, it’s naturally time for a short status – and let me take you through some of the highlights in 2019.

Expanite once again experienced significant growth – much beyond the markets in which we’re operating – and we can only do this due to the fantastic combination of customers who trust us with their business and our dedicated employees who are ready to go the extra step to find solutions and ensure delivery. Whether it’s for one-off mission-critical components to oil & gas or millions of parts to automotive or fast moving consumer goods, we get the job done. We increased our global presences as our partner in China extended their capabilities to include the complete portfolio of Expanite hardening processes for stainless steel, and thereby, Expanite is the first company in the industry to offer surface hardening of stainless steel in Europe, North American and Asia! And as if it wasn’t enough, we also placed the first license installation in Korea.

In 2020 Expanite will turn 10… Yes; by late-April 2020 Expanite can celebrate 10 years in business and as such nothing unique; most of our customers have a much longer history. On the other hand, with more that 2/3 of all companies dying within the first 10 years of their existence, we are quite proud to have established a sustainable and successful business. Besides celebrating, Expanite has a pipeline for new projects where we are solving challenges such as replacing hard-chrome plating on ferritic stainless and thereby improve performance and reduce cost, or apply Expanite hardening onto duplex parts with the purpose of improving lifetime and corrosion resistance. These projects and many more are the reasons why we dare to look well beyond the first 10 years.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish our customers, partners and friends of the company a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a prosperous New Year.

Best regards,

Thomas Abel Sandholdt

Now you have a choice; SuperExpanite hardening with nitro-carburizing or with carburizing

Until now, Expanite© hardening of stainless steel has been associated with nitrogen and carbon as hardening molecules, often referred to as nitro-carburizing or SuperExpanite N/C. Now there is an alternative, where only carbon is applied; and the name is SuperExpanite C.

Expanite boost scratch resistance on swiss made watches

Expanite specialist helped the Swiss watch brand Rado by developing a hardening process to improve wear and scratch resistance on their titanium high-end watches and at the same time keeping the designed color – which were once thought impossible.

Expanite around the world

In 2019 Expanite was again very busy on the exhibition front with a booth at the Process Expo in Chicago and Elmia in Sweden and we had Expanite experts speaking at various scientific symposiums all over the world.

We look forward to meeting you at our stands and events this year!
